Writing & Editing

A picture is worth a thousand words…except when it comes to marketing communications.

While it’s easy to imagine a print piece-ad, brochure, poster, or a cover story-featuring just words, it’s difficult to picture a very effective piece of communications featuring just a photograph or an illustration. And with regards to the Web, words are even more important, as it’s almost a certainty your website will never be found if it looks great but lacks appropriate, keyword-rich copy.

Words matter.

What you say matters.

How you say it matters.

At MarComm, we can customize editorial content to satisfy your needs and those of your intended audience, whether your copy needs are as short as a tagline/headline or bio, or as in-depth as a feature piece or a site write requiring expert keyword selection, original writing, and ethical search engine optimization (SEO). Of course, should you decide to write your own copy, MarComm can help refine your message, as well as provide professional editing and proofing.

You have something to say. If you can’t find the words to say it, contact us today.

Usability Testing

Put your virtual world to the test in the real one.

When visitors arrive at your website, can they easily locate what they’re looking for? If your answer is no, the big question is, why not? The bigger question is, why haven’t you contacted us sooner? MarComm can help! If you don’t know the answer as to whether or not it’s easy for users to navigate your site, web analytics might help. Usability testing can definitely help.

Usability testing involves observing real people as they are instructed to perform specific tasks on your website. Doing so allows us to determine how others are likely to interact with your site. For instance, how long does it take a user to locate basic information like the“About” or “Contact”sections? As the user digs down into your site, can they easily find their way back? Find out.

If your website is difficult to use, visitors will simply leave. And once they leave, it’s unlikely they’ll return. Contact us today to learn more about usability testing or to schedule a review of your website.

Email Marketing

They gave you their email address for a reason.

Email marketing can provide an incredible return on investment. It’s also one of the easiest and most effective ways to reach your target market, especially when you email from a list of people who have visited your website. Yes, inviting people to provide you with their email should be a call to action on your site. By visiting your site and providing your with their email, these people have expressed an interest in what you do and implied a desire to be kept up to date with what you’re doing. And they likely check their email repeatedly throughout the day. When you engage your target market electronically, email marketing keeps them informed and, at the same time, allows you to see:

  • If they opened your email
  • What content they viewed
  • If they forwarded your email

MarComm highly recommends email marketing. And there are several third party providers we would be happy to recommend. Contact us to be put in touch with them or to learn more about email marketing.
