Through proactive media relations, the Office of Public Relations gathers and disseminates information that enhances understanding of the University’s mission and its accomplishments as a Catholic institution of higher learning. The office handles media relations for major University events, works with faculty and administrators to provide media training and serves as a liaison between academic experts and print, broadcast and Web media. It additionally produces written and multi-media content in order to share Notre Dame’s stories with internal and external audiences.
Additionally, the office manages the University’s news service and runs University-level social media accounts, also providing governance for other high-level campus users. Public Relations plays a key role in Notre Dame’s crisis communications planning and provides editorial oversight for the home page of the University’s website, nd.edu.
